Frequently Asked Questions.

Planning Your Shoot

What’s the first step?
Start by reaching out through my contact page or by email with a brief overview of your project. From there, we’ll schedule a short call to discuss your goals, creative direction, and timing. If available, share renderings or snapshots so I can get a sense of the space and your design intent.

How do you determine pricing?
Every project is unique. Estimates are based on creative fees, production needs, and licensing. Once I understand the project scope — number of spaces, level of styling, and how images will be used — I’ll provide a clear, itemized proposal.

Do you travel?
Yes. I’m based in Massachusetts and photograph projects across New England and the Northeast seaboard, including Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, and New York. Travel beyond this region can be arranged for select assignments.

During the Shoot

Do you work with an assistant?
Depending upon the assignment, An assistant can ensures a smooth, efficient workflow and helps with setup, styling, and maintaining the highest level of detail. For destination projects, I often hire a local assistant to minimize travel costs.

How long is a typical shoot?
Depending on scope and complexity, most sessions yield 5–20 final images per day. Larger projects may span multiple days.

Should I be on-site?
Collaboration is key. When clients are present, we can refine compositions and styling in real time — ensuring every image aligns with your creative vision.

Do you include people in the photos?
When appropriate, yes. People can add scale, warmth, and movement to a space. We’ll decide together whether to shoot “live” with natural activity or staged for controlled compositions.

Do you scout projects in advance?
Whenever possible. Scouting helps determine lighting conditions, compositions, and logistics — and always leads to stronger final imagery. Local scouts are complimentary unless they require significant travel.

Technical Approach

Do you shoot tethered?
Yes. Shooting tethered allows us to review images as we go, make adjustments on set, and ensure every detail is perfect.

What kind of equipment do you use?
I photograph with Full frame digital camera systems for their exceptional clarity, color depth, and tonal range. Specialized architectural lenses ensure precise perspective control.

Do you use lighting?
Most images rely on natural light, but I incorporate strobe or continuous lighting when it enhances color, texture, and depth. The goal is always a balanced, natural look.

Licensing & Delivery

How does licensing work?
All imagery is licensed under a rights-managed model, tailored to your specific usage — web, social, editorial, print, or marketing needs. Copyright remains with me, but your license grants full rights for approved applications. Shared or extended usage can be arranged for additional parties.

What if multiple parties are involved in a shoot?
Shared sessions are encouraged. Each party contributes to the creative fee and receives their own usage license. We can structure the shoot collaboratively or assign individual image rights afterward.

When will I receive final images?
Preview proofs are typically delivered within a few days of the shoot. Once final selections are made, retouched images are delivered within 2–3 weeks. Rush delivery is available upon request.

Additional Services

Do you offer drone photography?
Yes. I’m an FAA-certified drone operator and carry full aerial liability coverage. Aerial perspectives are ideal for capturing site context, large-scale developments, or hospitality properties.

Do you create video content?
Yes. I produce short-form video features designed to complement still photography — perfect for web and social storytelling.

Do you work with stylists?
Many of my clients handle styling directly, but I can recommend trusted stylists in New England when additional visual direction or prop sourcing is needed.
